Best practices for selling surplus wood online
- When selling online, be accurate and honest about the condition of your wood surplus. List slab cup, bow, curve and moisture.
- Include good photos so that buyers can get an accurate idea of what you have without needing to contact you.
- Take photos in LANDSCAPE orientation. On the catalog page, they will be cropped to a certain proportion, but it’s pretty standard. On the detail page, your entire photo will be displayed in whatever orientation you took it.
- Have a plan in advance for how you would like to ship your items or whether you will require pickup.
- If you have multiple items for sale, consider offering a bulk discount.
- Set up a Store from the tab in your dashboard. Then if users click your vendor name, they can see all of the wood you are selling on one page.
